Mitchell Schmale - Sr. VP Nevins & Associates

Mitchell brings more than 25 years of public relations, media relations and marketing experience to Nevins & Associates. During his career, Mitchell has worked with a diverse array of clients including Fortune 500 companies, national telecommunications leaders, colleges and universities, governmental organizations, trade associations, nonprofits, health care providers, national sporting events, restaurants, and retail outlets.

Some of the brands and clients that Mitchell has worked with include Plank Industries, Weller Development, Sagamore Development, The Port Covington Development Team, Maryland Live! Casino, Facebook, COPT, MECU, Comcast Corporation, Constellation Energy, Towson University, WTOP Radio, Reading Is Fundamental, American Cancer Society, Greater Baltimore Medical Center, and Classic 5 Golf.

Prior to rejoining Nevins & Associates in 2019, Mitchell most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Maroon PR in Columbia, Md., where he served at the public relations and creative communications agency in various leadership roles for 12 years from 2008 - 2019. 

From 1995 – 2006, Mitchell had previously served at Nevins & Associates, most recently as Senior Vice President overseeing numerous client accounts and activities. In that role, Mitchell also created and implemented various media outreach campaigns and corporate marketing partnerships on behalf of clients with community partners including the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, and various universities. During that time, Mitchell also served as the Media Director for the Constellation Energy Classic (PGA Champions Tour event) from 2003 through 2006.

Mitchell began his career in the broadcast news industry as writer and producer at CNN Headline News in Atlanta, Ga. before joining WMAR TV, the ABC affiliate in Baltimore, as a news producer. Mitchell is a former board member of the Independent College Fund of Maryland (I-Fund) and is a graduate of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va.
